You Are Worth More Than the Number on the Scale

I have been busy with sickies here.  Thankfully, it was not me.  I am just feeling this dry air with my allergies acting up big time. I also have not been to my weigh~ins for the last 2 weeks. But checking on my home scale, it shows me down around 2 pounds. But I won't change my ticker until it is official.

I really am loving this new scale/measuring cup.  I cannot cheat with it.  I must have been eating 3 or 4 servings of cereal in the morning since we have such large bowls.  What an eye~opener for me.

I have used it for measuring everything.  I was making pasta and never really weighed the dry pasta.  Do you know what 2 oz of pasta looks like? Now this is one ounce, so really double that and it is not much at all.

I have been reading all over the web about weight loss and what works...not just for the time being, but for the long haul.  Yes, it is true.  It is fairly easy to lose weight.  You can choose any plan you want and loose the weight.  Yes, I agree it is hard because we are so used to eating what we want when we want.  But really, anyone can follow any plan and loose weight.  The real deal is keeping it off.  It is proven that you need to exercise and put food in it's place as a fuel for your body.  Yes, it is an enjoyable fuel, albeit it is still something your body needs to survive.  And the "e" word, exercise.  Your body has muscles that are there to use daily.  Everything I read for a healthy body and weight is to get at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise a day. It can be as easy as taking a few walks a day with your dog.  That is what I am doing now.  It is no cost except for a good pair of tennis or walking shoes.

Before I started to really get into walking, I thought I was going to die.  But now, my body craves it.  I actually feel stiff if I don't go out for my walks.  And living here in SoCal, the weather is no excuse not to get out there.  If the weather is bad, put a CD of Leslie Sansone and do your walking inside.  No excuses.....

I will leave you with a couple points of wisdom gotten from various places I visit...
You can never have enough of what you don't really need.
"Feel the feelings, don't feed them"
"If hunger is not the problem, food is not the solution."

Til next time~~

Good for you!
It is really amazing how much I eat...compared to how much or how little my body really needs.
Thanks for posting the picture of pasta...a real eye opener.
And I love the quote about how if hunger is not the option then food is not the answer.
Keep up the good work!
